The Technical and Leisure Administration is looking for a unit manager for arena services

We are seeking an engaged leader with a burning interest in leisure activities who wants to help shape the future of leisure activities in Värnamo.

A new unit manager for our sports facilities, arena services, at the Leisure Department, which is part of the Technical and Leisure Administration.

The Assignment

The assignment is to maintain and develop the municipality's sports facilities together with approximately 10 employees, including sports halls, football fields, ice rinks, outdoor areas, hiking trails, swimming areas, and more.

There is a strong focus on closely collaborating to meet the needs and operations of residents and associations. Our customers and visitors use our facilities almost all hours of the day and every day of the year. We cater to both recreational and elite sports among our customers. A major challenge is therefore to optimize the right quality and provide a high level of service together with the employees. Balancing quality and resources is thus central.

Efficiency is also achieved through collaboration and cooperation within the leisure department and administration to utilize resources in the best way.

The unit manager is responsible for quality/operations, work environment, finance, and personnel.

Since it is a practical operation that both manages and develops, the assignment also involves analyzing investment needs, some project management during renovations and new constructions, optimizing the vehicle and machinery fleet, and conducting procurements with support.

Attributes and Background

We are looking for a leader with documented experience in leading operations. A modern leadership style based on motivating leadership and communication is fundamental. Furthermore, experience in practical leadership with clear task management and follow-up is desirable.

Experience in managing, self-monitoring, and developing sports facilities is central, and a burning interest in leisure activities is necessary.

A skilled collaborator who achieves quality and efficiency together with customers, units within the administration, and other stakeholders.

A responsible manager who enjoys managing, following up, and developing, quality controlling and optimizing, as well as streamlining and taking great responsibility for budgets and finances.

A university degree or other post-secondary education is advantageous but not a requirement.

Requirements

• Driving license B
• Computer skills with knowledge of the Office package.
• Very good ability to handle the Swedish language in speech and writing.

The Technical and Leisure Administration. We are involved in building new facilities and properties, maintaining the municipality's premises, and developing outdoor life. We also provide support to associations and manage streets, roads, parks, drinking water, and wastewater. Additionally, you will find the swimming hall, health center, and leisure libraries with us.
